Bandai Namo, a major name in the industry, has given its full support to Bacta’s SR Exchange with Gaming Manager, Mark McGuinness highlighting how the insights gained from the event taking place in Leeds later this month will be cascaded down to staff throughout the organisation.
The format and make-up of Bacta’s SR Exchange has been praised for its success in reflecting the central role played by consumer-facing staff and its ability to create an environment in which businesses and individuals can learn from each other’s lived experience.
Mark McGuinness, Gaming Manager at Bandai Namco confirmed: “A key take-out from our experience of participating in the SR Exchange is how it provides a unique opportunity for staff from every part of the industry to discuss and share best practice in safer gambling.
“Having delegates from a whole range of roles not only reinforces the importance of social responsibility within operations, but also enables staff at every level to share their experiences, knowledge and the challenges that they face.
“Team members can sometimes be nervous about sharing their experience and solutions in a larger forum, but we found that delegates were far more confident and open when working in smaller groups, an approach which differentiates the Bacta Exchange from other events in the SR space.
“Certainly, hearing the experience of other staff and operators in terms of how they approach the practical challenges of delivering socially responsible policies is invaluable.”
Bandai Namco said that it will be sending team members from its larger AGCs located in Manchester and Gateshead with the insights gained subsequently shared with colleagues.
“Staff working at our holiday park AGCs, which are located on the South and Southeast coasts aren’t able to attend this year, but the experience of their Bandai Namco colleagues will be shared throughout the business” explained McGuinness.
“We are approaching this as an important workday and one which will help to reinforce the value and importance of safer gambling, giving some of our newer staff the opportunity to learn from their counterparts working across the industry.
“Engaging with other delegates will improve their knowledge and also increase confidence in what can sometimes be quite challenging situations.”
He added: “Safer Gambling training is fundamental to our business, but we have found that the level and quality of customer interactions improve with experience and confidence.
“As well as having the opportunity to hear of different approaches we are also keen to learn how other operators are using technology in managing customer interactions and monitoring outcomes. It promises to be an important day of sharing best practice and raising standards across the industry.”
