There’s rarely been a more important time for Bacta members to step up to the plate as the trade association fights for the industry across numerous fronts. In the forthcoming Bacta elections President John Bollom is encouraging members to vote for the candidates they believe are best equipped to make a difference.
Outgoing Bacta President John Bollom has called on members to exercise their democratic rights, cast their vote in the forthcoming elections and ensure that the trade association continues to push talent and experience to the fore.
Speaking ahead of the balloting period closing June 12th John Bollom believes that the industry is facing some of the most serious challenges in its history. He stated: “Bacta is working across more fronts than at any time in recent history and is indebted to members of both the Amusement and Gaming Councils together with National Council for applying their expertise to the benefit of the industry.”
Drawing reference to the challenges presented by the proposed changes to Technical Standards, the lack of progress in implementing the reforms contained in the white paper, the co-ordinated media campaign being conducted to undermine AGCs and the importance of securing an across the board review of stakes and prizes, he stated: “So many members have applied their expertise to support the arguments Bacta is deploying on behalf of our members.
“Without being able to draw on the insight and experience of so many talented individuals who care passionately about the industry we would be significantly diminished in our ability to protect and promote the business interests of our members.
“My message to members ahead of the elections is to look closely at the list of candidates standing for National Council and Amusement Council, examine their credentials and vote for those who you believe will do the best job in helping to build a progressive and healthy industry. There’s a huge depth of talent within our industry and we need to bring that to bear as we campaign on so many different fronts.”
