Buzz Bingo has teamed up with LoSalt and the Stroke Association to tackle high blood pressure and reduce stroke risk. This initiative will see LoSalt, a reduced-sodium salt alternative, introduced at Buzz Bingo venues in Gateshead and Stockport, two areas identified as stroke hotspots.
Launching ahead of Stroke Prevention Day on Thursday 30th January, the day aims to raise awareness about the link between sodium intake, high blood pressure, and stroke. Buzz Bingo patrons in the selected venues will have the option to choose LoSalt with their meals and will receive educational materials and take-home samples to encourage healthier choices.
Buzz Bingo is hosting a special live-streamed charity bingo game across all its venues to raise funds for the Stroke Association.
To further support the Stroke Association, Buzz Bingo is encouraging clubs across the UK to help raise money for stroke survivors – with the aim to raise up to £200k by the end of the year.
Mark Fletcher, Head of Brand Communications at Buzz Bingo: “Every penny counts, and together we can make a real difference in the lives of stroke survivors. We’ll also be selling our exclusive purple and yellow dabbers with 50p of each sale helping fund the charity’s vital work in stroke recovery and prevention. However, we’re going beyond club fundraising this Stroke Prevention Day. By partnering with LoSalt and hosting this exciting charity game, we’re also empowering our customers to make informed decisions about their health while supporting the Stroke Association’s vital work.”
Caroline Klinge, at LoSalt said “Lowering your blood pressure, even by a small amount, can significantly reduce your risk of stroke. Eating too much sodium, primarily found in salt, is the biggest culprit behind high blood pressure. By switching to a reduced-sodium alternative like LoSalt, you can ‘Season with Sense’ and take control of your health. We’re thrilled to partner with Buzz Bingo to offer their customers this opportunity at Buzz Bingo Metro Centre and Stockport.”
Juliet Bouverie OBE, CEO of the Stroke Association, said: “Around 100,000 people in the UK have a stroke every year and high blood pressure is the biggest risk factor for the condition. It’s vital that everyone knows what can cause a stroke, so they can proactively look after their health to reduce the risk. This Stroke Prevention Day, we’re encouraging adults of any age to get their blood pressure checked on a regular basis. We’re thrilled to have the support of Buzz Bingo and LoSalt to help raise awareness of the importance of managing your blood pressure to help lower your risk of stroke.”
This initiative is part of Buzz Bingo’s ongoing commitment to combatting social isolation caused by stroke.
