CHIPS Charity Golf Day raises £40,000

The industry embraced two of its passions – golf and fundraising on behalf of those less fortunate – when it came together for the annual CHIPS Charity golf day. Staged at the prestigious Woburn Golf Club the event succeeded in raising £40,000 to help CHIPS continue to purchase powered wheelchairs for children with profound mobility issues.

The prestigious Woburn Golf Club which has staged sixty professional tournaments and has a role of honour that reads like a ‘Who’ s Who’ of world golf, welcomed 107 industry golfers to the annual CHIPS Charity Golf Day. The golfers negotiated Woburn’s Marquess Course in the process helping to raise £40,000 for the charity which has presented more than 700 wheelchairs to help young people with profound mobility issues.

Linda Lindsay, who co-founded CHIPS said: “I would like to thank all of our wonderful golfers, guests and sponsors who helped to make the 2025 tournament such a resounding success. This year we welcomed three Lady golfers and it would be fantastic to increase that number in 2026. “

She added: “CHIPS was born out of the gambling industry and it is thanks to the generosity of everyone working in the business that we have been able to bring the gift of freedom to hundreds of young people. Many of the families that CHIPS has been able to help would not have been able to carry on with their children’s education with the antiquated chairs offered by the National Health Service.

By contrast CHIPS wheelchairs, which can cost up to £9,000 are engineered to meet the quite complex physiological needs of the individuals they are designed for. As a consequence they quite literally transform lives enabling recipients to attend school, socialise with their peers, enjoy their independence, and to flourish. Everyone who has attended a hand over presentation with me has been moved to tears at quite how a CHIPS chair changes lives.

“The demand for CHIPS chairs will always outstrip our ability to supply them which is why flagship events such as the annual golf day are so vitally important. My heartfelt thanks and those of my Trustees goes to everyone who contributed to the success of the day. Whilst the tournament is an annual event we are partnering with a growing number of businesses to engage with their teams and customers across a wide range of creative, fun and rewarding revenue raising ideas. I would be delighted to discuss the opportunities with any interested businesses and can be contacted at lindaglindsay@icloud.com.

500 Logistics won the 2025 Chips Charity Golf Tournament for the second consecutive year with Clarion Gaming 1 runners-up. Stephanie Williams of Clarion won the Ladies prize.
