Concern rising over the future direction of SuzoHapp as gaming giant releases key personnel

Social media activity has started to stir regarding the direction of travel for international manufacturing and distributing giant SuzoHapp, following a series of high profile redundancies.

Posting on LinkedIn after being released by the company, sales executive Martyn Gunter expressed his concern over the future longevity of the group whose roots go back seven decades.

“I was recently made redundant from Suzohapp UK, which was a successful business,” said Gunter. “While it will continue to operate for the next two to three months, the eventual closure will never seem right.”

“It is such a shame for all of my hardworking and loyal colleagues, most of whom have worked for the company for many years.”

It was a sombre note: SuzoHapp is an industry giant. It was formed from the merger of Suzo International, founded in Rotterdam in 1955, and Happ Controls, launched in 1986 in the US by Frank Happ, and officially became the Suzo-Happ Group in 2004.

Comments on Gunter’s post from across the global industry expressed genuine and widespread sadness at the changes and projections. One noted: “It should have been a lot longer.”

And former VP gaming and amusement sales, John Vallis, added: “It is also very sad for all of us who gave a large part of our lives building the business too, can only wish you all the best in your futures and I agree, it totally sucks…to say the very least!”

SuzoHapp is yet to respond officially, although AI searches indicate a “closure in July 2026” seemingly prompted by online chatter.

However, worldwide SuzoHapp websites remain operational and shopping options continue to be functional. And in the UK, whilst it still has to lodge its confirmation statement at Companies House, which was due at the end of May, the company posted annual accounts as recently as February this year.
