Disco Bowl has “almost completed” the £500,000 renovation of its venue in Newport, nine months after acquiring the Friars Walk site from Superbowl UK.
Having added a new reception and bar area earlier this year, as well as updating the lanes, the company has now officially unveiled a nine-hole golf course at the site.
“Another week, another refurb,” said a Disco Bowl spokesperson. “Did you know that with 13 bowls, 257 lanes and eight golf courses, Disco Bowl is the UK’s largest independent bowling operator?”
“Our transformation of Disco Bowl Newport is almost complete with the addition of a fab nine hole Scrapyard Golf course.”
According to director Pete Terry, Disco Bowl has enjoyed “tremendous success” with the Scrapyard Golf concept at its other UK sites, and added that the work so far refurbishing the Newport venue represents “a massive upgrade for the city.”
“Other changes we’ve made: lane sound, TV and lighting upgrade, new Disco Bowl signage and decor across the venue, expansion of arcade, refurbished kitchen with ten-grid Rational Oven (no more deep fried food), no more carpet – new flooring, new integrated bar and reception area. Take a look and come experience the difference!”
