Fantasy Island “passing on 100 percent” of VAT cut to customers

Fantasy Island in Ingoldmells has confirmed it is passing on “100 percent” of the summer VAT cut to customers, telling the BBC “we felt it was completely the right thing to do.”

The park hopes the reduction in ticket prices and children’s meals will have “a big difference” on families visiting the attraction before 1 September.

“We know how hard it is for people who are watching their budgets,” said marketing manager Joe Webb. “Anything we can do to make a family day out cheaper, we are going to do.”

“There’s a lot of work to get the prices sorted and getting all the systems up to date. But it will all be worth it when the sun is shining over the summer and people are having a great day.”

Webb added that despite the positive impact of the savings scheme, the business is still facing “huge” costs in line with the rest of the sector.

“Our daily running costs are significantly higher than they were just six to nine months ago.”
