The Gambling Commission’s third annual spring conference event, titled “Building the Bigger Picture: Evidence and Action Across Gambling” is set to take place next Wednesday in Birmingham, with a broad section of invested parties within the UK’s gambling landscape invited for multilateral discussions.
“It’s very important to bring together the charity sector, the industry, the regulator and international partners to talk about what are really complex issues,” remarked the Commission’s chief executive Andrew Rhodes at last year’s event. “You’re not going to find answers to those solutions unless you bring those different voices and different perspectives into the room and [the conference] is an absolutely brilliant opportunity to do that.”
“I think it’s really worth the investment from the Commission and everyone who’s given their time today to be here with us,” he added.
One positive operational testimonial last year came from Bally Corporation’s CEO Robeson Reeves, who praised the spirit of collaboration between parties at the spring 2024 meet.
“It’s great to be at the GC’s spring conference,” he said at the time. “It’s been really collaborative. I’m happy to see that the relationship has integrated now much better than it’s ever been before.”
“The industry, the regulator and all parties are working effectively together now,” he continued. “I think that’s really exciting for the future UK gambling industry.”
A lot can and has happened in a year – so much so that it’s highly unlikely that you will find many people repeating similar sentiments to Robeson Reeves this time round.
