Progressive businesses ensure that there’s no dislocation between head office and customer facing teams by fostering a mutual understanding of each other’s challenges. Such is the case at Game Nation where the senior team went back to the gaming floor for a hands-on day working with in-venue colleagues.
Game Nation, which is establishing a reputation for its creative, customer-first approach has undertaken a progressive new initiative which has seen management and central office teams spend a day working alongside colleagues on the gaming floor in order to gain hands-on experience of what it takes to deliver an exceptional ‘on the high street’ hospitality experience.
Reflecting on the day Chief Executive Mark Jepp, who has spent his professional life working at all levels in the industry said: “The goal was to build an authentic sense of what it takes to work in the Game Nation engine room. It gave colleagues the opportunity to listen, to learn and to share insights.”
He added: “By better understanding the day-to-day, we can all support our customer facing colleagues more effectively and continue delivering a best-in-class experience for the thousands of customers who visit our venues every week.
“As CEO my overarching aim is to reinforce Game Nation’s reputation for providing fun, great value for money, socially responsible entertainment hubs serving local communities and employing local people.”
The initiative has been met with enthusiasm across the company. Game Nation HR Director Julie Redfern confirmed: “The feedback from colleagues has been fantastic. Everyone valued the opportunity to connect in new ways, and the learnings from this programme will be invaluable as we continue to make Game Nation an even more rewarding and fulfilling place to work.”
