Halloween Festival draws hundreds of visitors to Clacton Pier party

Clacton Pier attracted hundreds of visitors last month during its annual Halloween Festival, which included new features such as a Creepy Crawly Cabin, a spooky stage show, and Pierella the story-telling witch.

The nine-day event, timed to coincide with Half Term, also saw the return of the popular pumpkin carving patch, Ghost Train: 4D, and Misery Mansion, with GM Harry Peek welcoming a serendipitous spell of good weather.

“We have so far been blessed with much better weather than last year, and the forecast for the week ahead is good,” said Peek at the beginning of the event.

“All the new features have been very well received and Creepy Crawly Cabin has really drawn the crowds.”

The Creepy Crawly Cabin allowed visitors to get up close to giant millipedes, thorny stick insects, giant African snails and hissing cockroaches, while the pier’s rides were open all week from 11am to 5pm.
