Happy to be of E-Service

As the Amusement and Retail Entertainment Expo in Manchester fast approaches, Coinslot caught up with vending and gaming repair and maintenance experts E-Service, getting the low-down from sales director Paul Scott on the role he envisions the event playing for an industry forced to weather a tough few months.

Coinslot: It’s been a tough start to the year both economically and on the regulatory front, which makes the industry gathering at ARE an important opportunity to test the market as the season shifts into gear. What are you hoping to get from the two days in Manchester?

Paul Scott:  The timing of ARE Expo couldn’t be better. The start of 2025 has presented real challenges for operators – both financially and in navigating ongoing regulatory uncertainty – so this event gives the entire industry a chance to regroup, connect, and share practical solutions.

For us at E-Service, it’s an opportunity to listen. We want to hear directly from our customers and partners about the pressures they’re facing, and how our products, services, and technical support can help alleviate them.

It’s about more than showcasing what we offer – it’s about engaging in meaningful conversations that lead to long-term value.

Coinslot: In terms of product, what innovations and new launches will visitors be seeing on your stand next week?

Paul Scott: We’ll be showcasing a range of technology designed to meet the modern demands of gaming and amusement venues.

A key innovation is our latest generation of change machines with contactless payment integration – the 5000 series is a solution that streamlines transactions and reduces reliance on cash, while keeping customer satisfaction high.

Visitors will also see our Nayax and Payter-based payment systems, note validators, and age verification solutions designed to improve compliance and operational efficiency.

For amusement operators, our premium pool equipment and Hainsworth pool cloth will also be on display – all backed by our expert support and repair services.

Coinslot: We’re now into the second quarter of 2025, what have been the highlights of the year so far in terms of business development and product launches?

Paul Scott: The first part of 2025 has been all about enhancing our offering to reflect the realities of today’s operating environment.

A major highlight has been the rollout of our contactless-ready change machine upgrades, which have received a strong response from the market.

We’ve also seen continued growth in our spare parts and repair services, as more operators seek cost-effective ways to extend the life of their equipment.

Our technical support teams have been busier than ever – a clear indicator that reliability and uptime remain top priorities for operators across the sector.

Coinslot: Looking at the market forces and the somewhat erratic signs regarding movement on the Gambling Review, how do you feel about the proposed changes in legislation and what the industry needs to realise the growth we need moving forward?

Paul Scott: Like many in the industry, we’ve been closely watching developments around the Gambling Review.

The uncertainty has certainly created hesitancy in investment decisions, but it has also underscored the importance of compliance-ready technologies. That’s why we continue to focus on age verification systems, secure payment solutions, and reliable cash handling – the kind of practical tools that help operators stay ahead of potential changes.

For the sector to grow, we need clarity, proportional regulation, and the ability to innovate within a stable framework. E-Service is here to support operators in adapting quickly and successfully to whatever changes do come.
