Haven has announced it will significantly expand its partnership with JD Wetherspoon after witnessing huge demand for the nine pubs established at its parks since January 2024.
The operator has now sold one million Wetherspoon meals at venues from Northumberland to Cornwall, with another 30 potentially in the pipeline.
“Two years ago, this was an experiment for Wetherspoon and an experiment for us,” said CEO Simon Palethorpe. “I could only have dreamed at that point that it would be this successful with our guests as it has been.”
“We are here celebrating a million [meals], but I expect it to be many millions in a couple of years’ time. I would like to see us growing this concept further across our estate. I think there is an opportunity for most of our parks to have a Wetherspoon.”
JD Wetherspoon chair Tim Martin said he was “delighted” with the success of the franchising agreement, which allows the venues to serve the same menu as the company’s other pubs.
“Since the first Spoons at a Haven opened in spring 2024, customers have ordered 365,000 breakfasts, 57,000 lunches and 578,000 dinners.”
