High Score Arcade has expressed interest in opening a new location in Andover, identifying a “long-empty” retail unit as the ideal position for a family friendly arcade.
The company has submitted plans for the Chantry Centre site to Test Valley Borough Council, highlighting the potential benefits the arcade will bring the local community.
“Our intention is to establish a welcoming, inclusive venue that serves as a vibrant community hub and provides excellent family entertainment, complementing the current leisure and retail offerings in Andover,” said head of operations Nicki Gamblin.
“We believe our unique, free-play arcade model would be a positive addition to the town and we hope to share an update on the application process in due course.”
Reporting on the submission, the Andover Advertiser wrote “the arcade would operate on a cash-free, unlimited play model during timed sessions and would be open from 10am to 10pm, seven days a week.”
“If approved, the scheme is expected to create around 20 new jobs.”
