In a journey embarked by Jack Temple Snr in 1978 the Temple family has made a major contribution to the industry. In a testament to the appeal of the business four members of ‘team Temple’ are still actively employed with Novomatic, Crown Leisure, Luxury Leisure and Bandai Namco. Three of them met-up at EAG.
The widely held view that the ‘industry is in your blood’ was confirmed at EAG when 22-year old Christian Temple, youngest son of Novomatic Director of Sales Kevin made his bow as Sales Executive with Bandai Namco.
Christian became the fourth Temple in the business joining his father, older brother Jack who works as an Area Support Manager for Admiral AGCs and Uncle Ashley – brother of Kevin – who works as Sales Executive at Crown Leisure.
The Temple family’s love affair with the business can be traced right back to 1978 when Jack Snr started in the trade selling video games for Arctic Electronics.
Outlining what is a complex chronology of mergers, sales, acquisitions and sector-leading entrepreneurship Kevin explained: “Following two-years at Arctic Electronics my father launched his first company Temple Agencies and Services operating and distributing AWP and amusement machines across the country from three depots.
“In 1986 he sold the business that bore his name to MHG. Deith Leisure who were owned by SEGA then purchased the MHG sales division and in 1991 Jack became Divisional Director.
“In 2000 Cirsa purchased the fruit machine distribution division of Deith Leisure with the Deith family and the Temple family retaining 26 percent of the business.
“In 2004 the Temple’s acquired Deith Leisure through an MBO and went on to sell to Crown Leisure with Jack running Deith as Managing Director through to 2004.
“I am delighted to confirm that Jack Snr is fit, healthy and enjoying his retirement watching his sons and grandsons continuing what he started at Arctic Electronics some 47-years ago. Some people might say that he’s got an awful lot to answer for!”
