Kossway veteran Gerry Koss dies aged 93

Gerry Koss, director of leading gaming and amusement machine supplier Kossway Automatics, died on 17 March aged 93 following a short illness.

Son of company founder Nathan Koss, Koss was a well-known face throughout the UK industry, and passed away peacefully at home after “a life well lived.”

“Gerry joined the company in 1968, seven years after Kossway was founded by Gerry’s father Nathan and my father Freddie,” said Kossway MD Paul Conway. “For a long period he purchased and sold the machines that we operate in his own unique negotiating style. Right up until very recently he would attend the office, such was his interest and habit.”

“Married to Gaynor for over 40 years, they both enjoyed a very happy family and social life and travelled extensively together all over the world, so a life well lived.”

Kossway asset manager Terry Smith described Koss as “an incredible personality,” adding “Gerry interviewed me for my first job on leaving school in 1981 and I have been with the company ever since.”

Koss’ funeral will be held at 12.30pm on 4 April at Slough Crematorium, followed by a reception at the Datchet Golf Club. Those wanting to attend are encouraged to contact Lynne Hall at Kossway via lynne.hall@kossway.com.

Those not able to attend but wishing to pay their respects are kindly asked not to send flowers.
