Llandudno Pier welcomed an extra 1,300 visitors last month after the return of PS Waverley, which used the attraction as a setting off point for four days of cruises around North Wales.
The world’s last remaining oceangoing paddle steamer set sail from the pier between 19 and 22 June, significantly boosting the resort’s tourism economy.
“From everyone at Llandudno Pier we wish her crew all the best for the summer months ahead,” said GM Paul Williams. “A huge thank you to the captain and crew for smooth sailings and docking.”
“A special thank you to the deck hands on the landing stage ensuring a smooth transition over the weekend, RNLI team Tim and Dan alongside the Pier team.”
Commenting on the visit, Waverley Excursions Ltd marketing manager Samuel Brown said “we have once again been delighted by the warm welcome Waverley has received during her four-day visit to North Wales.”
“The enthusiasm shown throughout the visit demonstrates the enduring affection for Waverley and for traditional pleasure steamer excursions around the North Wales coast.”
