Lordsdale Ltd has applied to Arun District Council to extend the opening hours of its Cassino Slots venue in Littlehampton until midnight.

The High Street site is restricted by its current operating conditions to close at 9pm Monday to Saturday, and at 6pm on Sunday and Bank Holidays.

“The additional operating hours will ensure the premises remains a sustainable and successful business, thereby enabling continuing, stable and long-term investment into the building, the business and its employees,” stated documents submitted by agent Woods Whur.

“The applicant intends to employ one additional full-time member of staff and one part-time member of staff, should the application be approved.”

If it is approved, the Cassino Slots venue would open from 9am until midnight seven days a week, however the incorporated licensed betting office would only operate until 10pm, as per the restrictions of the Gambling Act.

Reporting on the latest development from Lordsdale, the Sussex Express wrote “the family-run business opened the first of five licensed gambling premises in Bognor Regis in 1996 and now also operates in Worthing, Littlehampton and Chichester.”

Councillors are expected to publish a decision before autumn.
