Lucky Grab submit plans for new Leicester arcade

Lucky Grab has submitted plans to Leicester City Council to convert a former retail unit on the city’s High Street into a new arcade and entertainment centre.

Proposals for the four storey site have been put forward by Birmingham-based property firm FC518 Ltd, and also include a bar and diner.

“The business owners are eyeing up what was previously the Pilot clothing store for their new Leicester venue,” reported the Leicester Mercury. “It would take all four floors of the unit, with machines expected to be set up in the basement, ground and first floors.”

“Alcohol and food would be served on the second floor. Applicant FC518 Ltd is seeking licensing approval from the local authority to serve booze seven days a week between 10am and 11pm. The amusement arcade itself would open from 8am until 11.30pm.”

In documents submitted to the licensing committee, FC518 outlined the measures that will be undertaken to minimise disturbance to local residents and businesses, writing that outside areas will be “monitored to prevent any anti-social behaviour” and to keep “public nuisance caused by the premises to a minimum.”

The public consultation period on the project is currently open, with licensing officers expected to make a decision the week commencing 20 October.
