Family entertainment centre LuxPlay has reported an encouraging start to trading in Bournemouth, generating almost £5,000 in revenue within its first five days despite only part of the venue currently being operational.
The operator said the figure had been achieved while only the arcade area was open, with the planned soft play and café facilities yet to launch.
Providing an update on social media, a spokesperson for the business highlighted the challenges involved in bringing the project to life, including “setbacks, delays, sleepless nights, unexpected leaks, logistical nightmares and all the challenges that come with building something from scratch”.
Despite these obstacles, the company said local support had exceeded expectations.
“What many people don’t realise is that we’ve achieved almost £5,000 in revenue in just 5 days with only part of the arcade open,” the operator commented. “No soft play. No café. No full venue. Just a partially operational arcade and a community willing to come and support a brand new local business.”
According to the business, the early response demonstrates demand for new family-focused leisure attractions in the area and provides confidence for future growth plans.
The operator described the launch as “a huge vote of confidence” and added that “once the soft play, café area and future expansion plans are fully operational, LuxPlay can become something really special for the area”.
