Following the success of the previous five years, the Bingo Association has announced this summer will see the introduction of an extended schedule to comprise the first ever National Bingo Week.
National Bingo Day returns on Monday June 23, but following the success of previous years, this year will see the event take place over an entire week.
The national bingo celebration was first launched by the Bingo Association in 2020, but 2025 will mark the first official National Bingo Week, in which the industry will join together to celebrate the appeal of the game and the important role it plays in communities up and down the country.
Operators from both retail and online bingo plan to take part in this year’s extended calendar of events, with a series of in-club activities set to take place.
A “value session,” in which operators will be offering discounted bingo sessions, will be offered across the country on the evening of Wednesday June 25. Meanwhile, a charity game is to be held at participating clubs on Friday June 27. This event will see a bevy of local MPs invited, who will have the opportunity to call the game. All proceeds on this day (estimated to be in excess of £20,000) will go to Variety – The Children’s Charity. Finally, Sunday night will see the Super Prize Money game take place, where £100,000 is guaranteed to be won in a National Bingo Game participating bingo club, or at a Buzz Bingo venue.
“Following the success of previous years, we’ve extended National Bingo Day to be a full Week,” announced Bingo Association CEO Miles Baron. “We’re hugely proud to combine as an industry with all operators coming together to champion the love of the bingo.”
The Generation Game
This year, the bingo week campaign will recognise the value of bingo as a ‘generation game’ – encouraging all generations to play together to drive community engagement – as most bingo clubs are the hearts of the communities they operate in.
Research commissioned by The Bingo Association will be revealing the growing disconnect between generations – and the opportunity bingo offers for both families, friends and generations to communicate and spend quality time with one another, as well as identifying the challenges facing older relatives. Bingo will be positioned as the perfect remedy in reconnecting and nurturing intergenerational relationships.
Bingo Association chief explained: “We continue to see the impact bingo makes in communities up and down the country, and this year’s campaign theme of ‘the generation game’ tells that story. Bingo is a place for everyone, it offers a space for people to connect with others.”
