From helping to fund 147 local good causes to contributing to a wind farm initiative in Sri Lanka, MERKUR UK continues to support communities and the environment. Its latest Sustainability Report which will be widely distributed to politicians, policy makers, thought leaders and influencers documents a year of activities.
MERKUR UK has published a far-reaching report which covers the work undertaken during 2024 by its family of brands comprising MERKUR Slots, Blueprint Operations and Regal Gaming Technologies.
Entitled ‘Continued Investment into Local Communities and the High Street’, the 94 page Sustainability Report details its support for 147 community-based good causes, investment in local and regional economies including sustaining supply chains based in towns and cities throughout Britain.
The document will be widely distributed and will include every MP who has a MERKUR business in their constituency, DCMS, the Gambling Commission, the Minister and Shadow Minister for Gambling, Local Authority Licensing and Planning Officers as well as the community of safer gambling organisations and charities.
The purpose of the report is to help to inform decision-makers and address some of the misconceptions regarding the land-based gambling entertainment sector.
MERKUR UK General Manager Sascha Blodau stated: “MERKUR has invested in excess of £500m in the UK economy, we have created 2,500 jobs and raised more than £1.2m for charities. I am proud that we have demonstrated how successful commercial enterprises can also be good corporate citizens.
He added: “We have supported 147 community-based good causes many of which have been nominated by our venue teams. Dealing with the environment we planted 29,000 trees, offset 2,500 tonnes of CO2e and contributed to help sustain a wind farm initiative in Sri Lanka.
“I believe that MERKUR UK has a compelling story and this report reflects our undertakings to be a progressive and responsible corporate citizen.”
