Noble Corp has submitted plans to expand its presence in the north of England with a new 24-hour AGC in Leeds city centre.
The proposals for the former cafe on Vicar Lane were lodged with Leeds City Council last week by local law firm Woods Whur, acting on behalf of the operator.
“AGCs are not typically associated with crime and anti-social behaviour,” states the submitted planning report.
“The applicant is an experienced operator, with other AGC premises including 24/7 venues, and all operate without complaints of noise, anti-social behaviour, crime or other nuisance.”
The report added that if both the planning application and a subsequent premises licence is approved, the new AGC will create six full-time jobs, and will join Noble’s existing sites in Bolton, Durham, South Shields, Stockton-on-tees, and Wigan.
“All of the applicant’s premises operate in a mixed-use/town centre environment in the same way and under the supervision of a knowledgeable and experienced senior management team,” added Woods Whur.
“All of the applicant’s premises are staffed by a team of experienced and trained employees.”
Consultation is open on the plans for the unit, previously operating as Swissly Cafe, until 22 July.
