South West amusement supply and operation outfit Play Leisure continues to break new ground in its local community outreach, with a high-profile sponsorship deal of local club Tiverton FC. Play Leisure Director Matt Conridge, oh and Tiverton Town director Matt Conridge, explain.
In a new two-year sponsorship agreement, East Devonshire amusement supplier Play Leisure has proudly added its name to the new away shirt of local football club Tiverton Town FC.
A press statement on Tivvy’s website said that the new shirt, which debuted in a low-stakes match at Axminster early this season, had already created “huge waves amongst the fans,” who have been clamouring to get their own replicas of the two-tone pastel and dark blue shirt from the club’s merchandise shop.
The club, which plays at home in yellow and black as part of the Southern League Premier Division South, saw its new away kit delivered to its Ladymead ground at the start of the season by none other than Play Leisure head tech Chris Paice, who took the opportunity to pose for a photo alongside some of the company’s best-selling products.
“We are delighted to work with Tiverton Town Football Club and hope this is the start of a long relationship,” he said.
The most high profile of its kit sponsorship deals to date, Play Leisure, which is based in the small village of Dunkeswell just north of Honiton and specialises in the supply and operations of amusements and kids rides throughout the south west, has ongoing kit agreements with both a local under 12s football club and under 13s rugby club: all part of what managing director Matt Conridge says is a purposeful business development strategy aiming to “give back to communities.”
“Obviously there is a benefit to us as a business because the goodwill sponsorship that this provides is high, and coverage in new forms of media does well for us,” he told Coinslot.
Meanwhile, for its part, the management team at Tiverton have said that they look forward to what they feel would be “a mutually beneficial partnership” going forward.
“It’s always good to work with a new commercial partner,” said a spokesman. “We are sure that, together, and enjoying all the support that the community gives us, we can take the club forward.”
If early indications were any predicate, it’s a partnership slated to bring good fortune: Tivvy battered local heavy-weights Poole 3-1 at home on Saturday. Back of the net…although the club will need a few more of those results. Tiverton are edging away from the danger zone – fifth from bottom and yet one win away from mid-table.
