Paolo Sidoli: EAG is for setting new standards

SB Machines’ Paolo Sidoli believes his company’s latest rides, Peppa Pig Helicopter and Baja Surf Carousel, have set new standards in design and player appeal after breaking cash box records during rigorous site testing in 2024 – making them the perfect centre piece for the supplier’s EAG stand.

EAG is all about setting new standards, according to SB Machines’ Paolo Sidoli, who asserted that the company’s latest kiddie rides, Peppa Pig Helicopter and Baja Surf Carousel, are now the high water mark for design and player appeal.

SB Machines’ latest Italian-made innovations have been on test throughout 2024, breaking cash box records and showcasing the ability for kiddie rides to be a focal point for FECs, rather than filler.

“Our latest rides, Peppa Pig Helicopter and Baja Surf Carousel, need no introduction; the results speak for themselves,” stated Sidoli. “They have broken cash box records during rigorous site testing in 2024 and have set new standards in design and player appeal.”

Like a good music album, the best FECs are ‘all killer no filler’. These days, operators can’t afford to have rides that fill space for the sake of it, and SB Machines’ strong values and strict testing ensures only the best rides make it to the company’s EAG stand.

“Our rides are built to be the focal point of any amusement establishment rather than being considered as pieces that make up the numbers to fill space for the sake of it,” continued Sidoli. “The rides pack a big punch; their competitive pricing and guaranteed £2 per play will ensure a good response from operators.”

As a stalwart of the British amusements industry, Sidoli has seen standards rise at the January show, in its various guises, every year for the best part of three decades. He understands how important it is to make an impact on the expo floor, believing that “if you are not leading, you are being left behind”. This philosophy has kept SB Machines at the forefront of its market segment and driven strong sales during the three day event.

“EAG kickstarts the coin-op purchasing season and it sets the tone for business,” he explained. “The largest part of our annual sales derives from this show and the products we carefully choose to exhibit will gauge the market sentiment. We will have on display a completely new line up of exciting rides: from large to small, generic and licensed.”

As well as Peppa Pig Helicopter and Baja Surf Carousel, SB Machines will display Camper Van and Colorado City at next week’s expo, showcasing the full range of skillful design and meticulous craftsmanship that goes into its Italian-made innovations.

“Camper Van is a small 2 seat ride with interactive screen, based around the design theme of Baja Surf Carousel. It is well suited for outside use, and the various pastel colours and fun looks will improve and bring up to date the frontage of any establishment,” detailed Sidoli. “All rides suppliers need to offer a horse-themed ride and Colorado City is the latest affirmation of this concept. This beautiful fully interactive medium-sized shooting horse with video has been exceptional during the 2024 season and will be a fabulous option for anybody looking to put their older steeds to pasture.”

He also understands that operators are not only looking for high quality rides, but also good value – especially in light of the regulatory and macro-economic challenges the industry continues to face.

“We are mindful of the delay in the implementation of the White Paper and the well documented cost pressures facing leisure, catering and hospitality – that is why we are presenting rides that deliver not only in performance but also on price,” he concluded. “We have utmost confidence in our products and we have continued investing and developing to improve our range year on year despite gloomy macro-economic conditions. Despite its challenges, the UK coin-op sector is well represented, sophisticated, diverse – and the envy of global onlookers. Our company will not disappoint in contributing to this continuing trend.”
