Pubs to pour 2.6 million more pints during Euro 2025

The UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 tournament could provide pubs with a sales boost over the summer, according to the British Beer and Pub Association, which expects venues to serve an extra 2.6 million pints during the competition.

The rise in sales is anticipated as fans gather to watch matches from 2 July, with pubs possibly benefiting further from extended opening hours if either England or Wales progress to the semi-finals or final later in July.

The BBPA calculates that the extra pints could equate to a £13m boost to the economy.

Chief executive Emma McClarkin said: “The pub has forever been regarded as a home away from home, especially for sports fans, so it’s no surprise that fans will be flocking to the pub to cheer on our brilliant teams.”

She also urged the Government to “level the playing field and reduce beer duty”.
