Interest is mounting as Bacta members register in record numbers for the Annual Convention. Outstanding key notes and two interactive panels have been augmented by the opportunity to dissect and debate the implications of the Autumn Budget which will be announced to Parliament the day before. Members wishing to attend the Parliamentary Reception being held on the 26th November in the Churchill Room will need to act swiftly to secure one of the 30 places remaining.
Bacta members will be at Annual Convention in record numbers if the response following the opening of registration is anything to go by. Allaster Gair, Bacta Director of Communications has confirmed that the numbers are over 20 percent ahead of the same stage last year with the Parliamentary Reception taking place Wednesday 26 November from 6:30pm in the Churchill Room, House of Commons already 70 per cent full.
“The theme for Convention is ‘Playing Our Part’ and Bacta members are certainly playing their part in making this year’s one of the most in-demand editions in recent time” stated Gair. “With fewer than 30-spaces left for the Parliamentary Reception and Convention registrations running so far ahead we can say with confidence that the industry will be extremely well-represented in London.”
Bacta President Joseph Cullis believes the unprecedented demand is being powered by a combination of its timing, coming as it does just a day after Chancellor Rachel Reeves will have introduced her Autumn Budget, the calibre of the keynotes, and the appeal of the two interactive panels which are a key part of the Convention experience.
He stated: “To have secured the attendance of both the Gambling Minister, Baroness Twycross and the Gambling Commission CEO, Andrew Rhodes represents a major opportunity for Bacta and is a not to be missed chance to hear from the key figures helping to shape and implement the policies impacting Bacta members.”
“In addition to the two Convention keynotes, Bacta members will also benefit from a deep-dive analysis on the implications of the Autumn Budget less than 24-hours after it has been announced to Parliament.”
As well as the huge swell of support from Bacta’s rank and file members, the Convention has also attracted a significant level of sponsorship support. Announcing the line-up of Convention sponsors, Joseph Cullis said: “On behalf of the trade association I would like to say a huge thank-you to all of our sponsors comprising our Platinum supporters Blueprint Operations, Novomatic UK and Reflex Gaming, as well as our Gold sponsors Inspired Entertainment, RBW Systems and Sega Amusements International. Their support helps us to deliver a professional, well-run Convention in an appropriate central London business location.”
The Parliamentary Reception – one of the highlights of the Bacta calendar – brings together parliamentarians, policymakers and key stakeholders to celebrate the land-based sector’s economic and social contribution.
Attendance is free for Bacta members, but registration is essential and places extremely limited.
The 2025 Bacta Convention follows the next day, Thursday 27 November, 10am–3pm, at One Birdcage Walk, London.
