A&S Leisure Group has reported that pre-tax profit for the year to 30 September 2025 fell 19 percent to £6.2m, following the rise in gaming duty and employment costs.
Revenue for the Napoleons Casino owner remained steady at £47.4m, with GGY up 8.5 percent to £40.3m, however operating costs rose by nearly 8 percent.
“Higher gaming duty rates, together with significant increases in employment costs, increased overheads by 7.6 percent and contributed to a fall in operating profits,” said director Susan Battersby. “Further refurbishment work was undertaken to casino properties during the year in order to update and improve the customer experience and drive attendance.”
“Investment in facilities, customer experience and marketing initiatives will continue where appropriate, with the objective of maintaining market share and supporting future profitability. The directors remain confident that the company’s strong financial position will allow it to take advantage of opportunities as they arise.”
