Hollywood Bowl has posted record revenue for the year to 30 September, with takings up 8.9 percent to £250.8m, thanks largely to UK sales jumping 6.4 percent to £212.4m during the period, which also included the opening of five new UK sites and a further two in Canada.
Hollywood Bowl has reported revenue for the year to 30 September increased 8.9 percent to £250.8m, with sales across its 77-venue UK estate rising 6.4 percent to £212.4m.
Shares in the Hemel Hempstead-based bowling brand jumped 7 percent following the announcement, which also confirmed the company is on track to operate 130 sites by 2035.
“We have again demonstrated the success of our proven, customer-led strategy and differentiated business model by delivering record revenues and further profitable growth,” said CEO Stephen Burns.
“The strong cash generative nature of our business means we are well-placed to continue investing in the size and quality of our estate and to continue to enhance the customer experience through our service standards and the use of digital technology.”
Total group like-for-like revenue grew 0.6 percent during the 12 month period, with UK total LFL revenue up 1.1 percent, as UK bowling centres delivered LFL growth of 1.3 percent.
The company completed five refurbishments over the year, as well as opening five new “prime location” UK sites, beside another two openings in Canada.
“We have continued to drive strong returns through ongoing investment in our centres and the expansion of our estate in prime locations in the UK and Canada and we have an exciting pipeline of new centres that continues to grow.”
The group expects to publish its final results for FY25 on 16 December, and though increases in wages and Employer NICs recently added £1m to outgoings, the company said it is “well-placed to mitigate the increased costs.”
