Well Tenpin are staking their claim in the marketplace with an impressive statement of intent. Growth is the number one priority as Wakefield awaits the pre-Christmas arrival of what the council’s cabinet member for regeneration welcomed as a “high-quality private sector investment that shows confidence in our city and Trinity Walk. And will be a real boost to our high streets and local economy.”
Retail’s loss continues to serve as leisure’s gain: as the city of Wakefield preps to welcome its first ever bowling centre in the site of what was once the local Debenhams.
The new Tenpin location will make landfall in the city’s Trinity Walk shopping centre, and will house 24 bowling lanes, an escape room, an arcade floor, pool tables, a bar, diner and even a laser-tag arena, in what looks set to be one of the biggest leisure destinations in the vicinity.
According to the scoop from local newspaper the Wakefield Express, development on the project is still in its nascent stages, with a potential opening currently projected for December.
“We are thrilled with the plans to bring Tenpin to Wakefield and to be able to offer a wide range of indoor recreation for the local community,” remarked Ten Pin’s property director Adam Jevon. “Trinity Walk is a great centre and it makes for an exciting project for us all.”
Meanwhile, Trinity Walk manager James White labelled the development “hugely exciting…not just for Trinity Walk, but for the whole of Wakefield.”
“We know the public has been asking for a bowling centre in the city for many years, so by working with this brilliant, leading operator we hope that together we can create something special.”
