After raising £13,476 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association in 2023 by cycling the Taff Trail, the Bacta Baggers are swapping their bikes for boots to take on the Munros of Ben Lawers and Beinn Ghlas, before tackling the Ring of Steall in the Mamores mountain range.
Two years after their successful completion of the Taff Trail, the Bacta Baggers have announced they are to take on six Munros in two days this year, in order to raise £10,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
The group of industry representatives will take on the Scottish landmarks of Ben Lawers and Beinn Ghlas before tackling the Ring of Steall in the Mamores mountain range, with all donations supporting MNDA’s “essential work.”
“The team is setting their sights high (both literally and figuratively) after raising an incredible £13,476 back in 2023,” said a spokesperson. “This challenge isn’t just about personal endurance, it’s about making a real impact in the fight against Motor Neurone Disease.”
“MND is a cruel and relentless condition that affects thousands of families across the UK, and the Bacta Baggers are determined to do their part to support those living with it, as well as fund vital research for a cure.”
The Bacta Baggers include Andy Tipple, Kevin Temple, Joseph Cullis, Rob Bennett, Andy Bower, Sean Young, Paul Abbott, James Fergusson, Josh Beard, and Andy Bullock, who are hoping the walk “brings us closer to a future without MND.”
“Of course, no challenge of this scale can be conquered alone. The team needs your support! Whether you’re cheering them on from the sidelines, spreading the word, or making a donation, every contribution makes a difference.”
At the time of writing, donations had already topped £1,300, with those keen to support the challenge able to pledge via the Bacta Baggers’ Just Giving page.
