Woolley family submits plans to extend Palace Bingo in Bedworth

The Woolley family has submitted proposals to add a new one-storey extension to Palace Bingo in Bedworth, as part of a wider effort to refurbish the interior of the 114-year old building and modernise the customer experience.

Directors Donna and Peter Woolley are also looking to enhance the club’s community engagement with live events, charity nights and themed bingo, according to plans currently being considered by Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.

“The planned renovations will introduce updated interiors, improved seating arrangements, and state-of-the-art gaming technology,” reported Bingo Daily. “These changes are designed to create a more comfortable and enjoyable environment for both long-time members and newcomers.”

“The management has emphasised that while the facilities will be modernised, the welcoming atmosphere that defines the club will remain unchanged.”

The Palace Bingo building first opened in 1911 as a cinema, but became a bingo hall in the 1960s, with the second generation of the Woolley family taking on operation of the Leicester Road venue in 2012.

“Beyond the physical upgrades, the club is also focusing on community engagement. Plans include hosting more local events, charity nights, and themed bingo sessions to foster a stronger connection with the residents of Bedworth. The goal is to make the club not just a place to play bingo, but a central hub for social interaction and community building.”
